The characters are inspired by the villains, not direct genderbends of them. They ARE original characters. And speaking as a woman, frankly it's a breath of fresh air to have a gacha game that isn't full of waifu pandering and forced romantic moments. If that means no female main characters at all, well, there are lots of other games out there. There's room for everybody. I'm not even going to touch the rest of your comment except to say that no, genderbending isn't inherently transphobic. Let people have fun.

@Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy stans, maybe when your faves consist of a murderer who has killed hundreds of innocents including children ("That was ooc" Well Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker was by her creators and she helped torture Robin in there, so I don't think she was a problem with hurting kids) without ever expressing remorse and a villain with the basic plan of killing all humans and in her first two apperances tried to force our hero into a romantic relationship with her with no regard for his feelings about it, then I don’t think you have any right to tell me which fictional characters I can and can’t like, recent woobification or not.
God I hate that "THE DESIGNS IN THE NEW MOSNTERS INC. SHOW AREA BAD" post so fucking much. Because it just gets so many things wrong about animation and Monsters Inc in general.
Point 1) "The main character is just a guy!" So what? He's a character for a kids show, why does it matter how he looks? Mike is just a ball with hands and feet, I bet if Monsters Inc came out today, people will be complaining about him too. And what about all the other characters that appear in the promotional art and trailers? Did you forget about them too? What abt their designs?
Point 2) "Why didn't Disney hire good artists?" Wow, way to shit on the artists already working on it there, Karen. And a good way to reveal that you don't shit about art. They're probably plenty of talented artists working on it, and who knows? Maybe we will see some really creative character design in the show, we have no idea. It isn't even out yet.
Point 3) "But what about the Mike recolor! :(" Mike's mother isn't even a different color. It's just him with hair and glasses. I don't hear anyone whining about her 🙄
Point 4) "I don't like the character design, therefore it's bad!" Ugh, your opinion, your highness, is not law. It's not objective fact. Stop acting like it is and stop bragging abt the people who agree with you and stop treating those who don't agree with you like shit. It makes you look like a self-absorbed asshole.
Seriously that whole post reeks of 90s kid mentality. "IT WAS BETTER WHEN I WAS A KID, MODERN CARTOONS ARENT GOOD AMYMORE" type bs. People getting so worked up over not just a fictional kids character, but over 2 whole character designs. 2! It's so stupid. "But I still refuse to watch the show! 😠" Good for you, you want a cookie? No one's forcing you to watch it. No one is forcing you to like it the designs if you don't. So you can go jump off that high horse of yours and grow up.
The hole Adam Ellis thing with Sonic really opened my eyes to the perpective of ACTUAL normal people about fandom discourse. And how much the "Sonic is underage and drawing sonic p**n is p*dophilia!" is a absolutely insane person thinking.
So "Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown" gets released which caused a lot of fanboys which is bad but here's the thing: when the Forza fandom laughed at them for praising something that WASN'T RELEASED it became ironic to me because people at Forza fandom like to shit on ANYTHING that isn't Forza Horizon/Motorsport, even if a game isn't released. And many more of that, e.g disrespecting Microsoft despite Forza games would never be published WITHOUT Microsoft.
