MAI FRAN!!! Very important question for pondering! What do you think Robert would smell like?

I’ve been thinking about it for a while now, but I’ve never come to a definitive answer, and I wanna know if it’s ever crossed your mind!

Whatever it is, it’s gotta have a hint of aftershave, right? Because he shaves every day (I’m assuming based on his getting ready for work sequence in Episode 4)

And would it be weird to say that he definitely smells a little like dog, too? Not like overwhelmingly wet dog, but like Beef is always rubbing up on him. I’d be surprised if he didn’t either keep a lint roller or always end up at work covered in fur 🤣

Wait! It just occurred to me… Does Spectren have a sense of smell? 👀

Anywho, you should lemme know your thoughts, mootie! I wanna talk Robert with youuuuuu 🙌

I AM SO GLAD I HAVE SYNESTHESIA RIGHT NOW

So Robert smells like dog food (cuz he let's beef lick his face), mechanic work shop grease(on account of how many times he has repaired the suit on his own and then worked on it with roid), a hint of whiskey and a hint of aftershave.

And yes spectren has a sense of smell just like sharks do underwater, to "smell" blood in water and they didnt realize how strong it was till they got to the surface. Doesnt exactly have a sense of taste but sure can smell things.

Sonar - positive

Spectren likes him. Hes fluffy and soft?? New texture, the siren is surprisingly fond of it, and curious. Probabky bothers him with how often they try to touch his fur.

Hes very silly. They dont understand any of his jokes but still find the dork funny. They will listen to him talk about anything and ask questions being very engaged

Be careful though because they are easily influenced while learning and he could very well convince them of soen things he shouldn't

Spectren around sonar requires supervision.

Radio - What’s something about your f/o that’s just so… them? Something they wouldn’t seem right without?

Robert's scruff. He would just look so different shaved or with a full beard and it wouldn't be right. Spectren would not register him as the same person.

And the suit for sonar. Doesnt seem right for him to wear any other kind of outfit or at the very least the red tie.

Cha’ad - When was the last time you and your f/o had to put your trust in one another? Was it easy? Difficult?

For both, it was during a mission Robert had dispatched both sonar and spectren on around the end of their shifts. It was easy for spectren at least. Trusting that is.

SORRY FOR SENDING YOU A MILLION SPECTREN IDEAS

I love your ghost siren to pieces so I keep thinking about them but I’ll try to think of things for your other ships, too!!!

For this one, though, it’s not a ship idea, but me wanting to play touys with our S/Is 🥺

So, I’m tossing Nevermore at you to do what you wish with her if she were to hang out with Spectren. Still five sentences! And bonus points if you can find a way include Heartichor!

"So you control fire?" Spectren asked ember blade, them and heartichor having returned from their fieldwork for a break.

"Well yeah, sort of, it's not like flambae uses fire, cuz I've also got a sword and stuff so it's more like magic with a bonus of using fire." Ember tried explaining to the ghostly merfolk.

Heartichor snickered as they watched spectren's incoporeal hand curiously phase back and forth through Ember's heated sword without harm, the three of them spending their little break on spectren's alien way of learning things.

A single paw reached up to pad against a leg for the demand of attention only to slip right through the translucent appendage and touch the ground the other did not. Beef let out a bark of protest, unhappy with being ignored by the two beings in front of him.

"I think someone wants to play." Heartichor chuckled, pointing out the rotund pup to his partner after said dog interrupted them mid conversation.

Attention is exactly what he received as spectren phased through the floor to become level with the dog and he happily received head pats and a few moments of playtime on the former convicts work break.

Robert sighed as the vending machine in the breakroom rejected the bill once again, spitting it back out as if the crease ruined its flavor like someone who disliked the food they tried despite it being the only thing they ate.

"What are you trying to get?" A familiar ghostly voice asked monotonously over his shoulder.

"Just, uh, the twinkies."

Spectren floated past him and reached their hand past the glass of the machine to take hold of the snack he wanted and phased it back through with them before it dropped into his own.

So Robert and spectren with a kiss out of love.

The work day had come and gone fairly smoothly, as smoothly as it could with a bunch of ex-villains as a team. Now the sun was setting and Robert was headed out of the building with Beef at his heals following his steps.

A happy bark from the dog alerted Robert to someone still lingering around, looking down to see Beef padding round and jumping in a circle, ever so often he could catch a glimpse of...a hand? A face? Poking out through the ground.

"Spectren." Robert chuckled "Didn't you already head home?"

The being floated out of the ground, stopping their playing with the dog to answer the Dispatcher. "No. I did not."

"I see that. I mean, why not? Why are you still here?" Robert asked, rephrasing his question for the nonhuman who took everything literally.

"I didnt want to." They said simply.

"Any reason for that?" He rose an eyebrow

Instead of an answer, they looked back down at Beef who was sitting by her feet with his tongue out and tail wagging.

"You didnt stick around just to play with Beef, did you?" Robert laughed lightly at the idea.

"Maybe." He replied, not a single change in tone to indicate any emotion as usual, except for the slight smile.

"I'll bring him again tomorrow. You can play with him when you're on break." Robert offered. "He seems to have a lot of fun with you."

"Really?" Their eyes turned back to him, wide and hopeful.

Robert gave an amused smile, finding the small ways they emote actually endearing. "Yeah, really, I mean he likes attention from anyone but he seems to really love playing with you specifically.

Though it didnt show very well, the ghost-siren couldnt hold back their glee and appreciation and floated closer to Robert, placing a kiss on his cheek. A solid kiss, not floating through him.

It surprised him at first but he quickly recovered and had something softer takeover his face. Seeing as she was solid then, he tried something himself, reaching a hand up and managing to place it on the side of Spectren's face. He brushed his thumb over the translucent skin, admiring their features before placing a soft, sweet yet brief kiss on their lips. The kiss held all the words he thought about saying since realizing his own feelings and just never found the right time to say.

Short but I couldnt think of much

Thankfully spectren isnt totally oblivious with romance cuz Heartichor got them first /silly

Phenomeman - neutral

He is a very confusing being. He is not human but looks human? They cant find logic in his existence /silly

He barely interacts with phenomaman at all so he doesnt have the chance to get to know him much, she also doesn't enjoy the colours of his outfit they're a bright warning sign. As a being from the ocean those colours just mean "stay away I'm deadly" or "I'm looking to impress a mate", which to them is the reason hes so sad over his breakup with blazer.

He does seem alright aside from that though, strong powers, does good when he tries, though spectren is still struggling to grasp why certain things are deemed good and others bad, at least the surface dwellers say he does good.

Coupé - neutral

Coop doesnt like spectren. Creepy spying ghost that cant be detected and would be very hard to kill and asks a lot of questions? Gets on her nerves

Spectren thinks coop is cool but very dangerous and does not want to be near the equivalent of a flying shark when she gets angry. Does think shes very pretty though. Very pretty.

Golem - positive!

Now there is a being that makes sense! Not human and doesn't remotely look it? There are plenty of creatures in the depths of the ocean that appear like sentient rock or coral, golem is just like that to them. They think hes adorable and enjoy his presence very much.

They both are slow with jokes and sarcasm, they can relate to each other. Golem has actually tried sharing his music with spectren too.
