To say Martha was off-put by her girlfriend’s curt reply would be correct; she didn’t even think about her own comment, let alone how it might clash with Alex. She opened her mouth to respond, but cut herself off upon the other’s additional words. 

The redhead could feel her stomach knotting and twisting the more Alex went on about parents and raising and responsibility, she could even feel tears prickling at the corners of her eyes from how much it added to the physical pain she was already feeling. Leaning her head back, a pained groan sounded from the taller mechanic, arms wounding tighter around her abdominal region.

“Th..Thanks..” Martha managed, defeatedly curling up while laying on her side instead. Once Alex had left the room, a hand came up to rub at her forehead and temples, What has she gotten into thanks to a mindless offhand comment..?

          “Hey Alex, would you like to go to dinner with me?” It was coming from nowhere, he knew that. But she was interesting and he wouldn’t mind getting to know her better. It didn’t have to be a date if she wasn’t comfortable with that, just a nice dinner between friends.

One hand was perched neatly upon the plump frame of her hip, uninviting stature mimicking the scathing look of scorn ‘pon features so usually radiant. “You’ve hardly spoken to me the whole day. You’ve just sat, glued to that phone of yours.” Now, Ariana was not one to throw around accusations with such heavy implications, but suspicions had been roused far too often for her to ignore it. Then again, her often overactive imagination tended to get the better of her.

Of all days for her to be lost, it had to be the same day her disguiser malfunctioned. Was it the rain, or just luck?? Papa always told her if she ever lost her human facade, she needed to keep out of sight until he found her, or until she could make it home. The best place she could find was under a slide, as it was sort of hidden, and out of the rain.

Of course, out of the rain only did so much when she was already soaked. 

Zewa was cold, scared, and alone, curled up and shivering under the plastic construct. She almost didn’t hear someone speak up, until she realized the word ‘alien’ had been used, and her little heart froze as she looked up at the stranger.

“P-..Please don’t hurt me-!!” She ended up blurting, trying to scoot back further  under the slide.

After placing a cup of tea for his friend, the brunet proceeded to sit next to Iris on the couch. He coincidentally witnessed struggling in her sleep, distraught and distress could be clearly shown on her features. 

“Are you sure you’re alright, Iris...?” He was clearly worried about her. “You can always tell me.”

“W-Well...this man’s ability could’ve proved useful...considering this was written during the d..depression.” Iris stares at the picture of the man in the book. “Families c-could prepare mentally...as well as save up the money needed t...to purchase the coffin...a-as morbid as that s...sounds..”

Adona quietly waited for him to find his words---surprised that she’d found, for once, someone that didn’t seem particularly averse to her casual affections. Violet-tinted lips curled in an amused smile whilst she curiously observed Alex, and once he’d made his inquiry, gentle laughter erupted bubbled from her throat, pulling Alex just a tad closer as she answered:      “Oh, you’d even buy me a drink? You’re a gentleman, alright. One of a kind!” it wasn’t even her objective in first place, but she was definitely not the kind of woman to reject such a kind offer. While she wasn’t exactly poor, she didn’t have, half the time, enough money to pay off all the alcohol she regularly ingested. One index raised to poke his cheek, softly probing at it with playful intention. “I’m Adona, darlin’. You can give me whatever nickname, though, I won’t mind either way~” she paused, stopping her poking to tilt her head to the side; just to get a better look. “What about you, hm? After all, I ought’a know the name of a kind soul so willing to offer me something.”

         “Thank you Iris.” Giving her a smile, Yua took a deep breath before walking into the office for her interview. It felt like she was in there for hours, even though it couldn’t have been more that thirty minutes before she came back out, a smile on her face. “They said they were going to start me off part time, just to see how I do. Which is good since I’m still in school myself.”
