It was an especially cold morning the day Bessie was brought into this world. The leaves had just changed color. Now I shall describe these leaves to you in great detail. Some leaves were green with flecks of yellow in them, like a wart-ermelon that was gettin' good and ripe. Others were red as the first caterpillar of spring. Like the saying goes, "Red hair on the 'pillar, go see Millar." Millar of course refers to Webb Miller, Wartwood's first town clerk. 'Cause when those red hairs appear on the first caterpillar, you gotta go see Webb and pay the dues on your (unreadble) stand, otherwise you'll find yourself Parsnipped - named of course for Abigail Parsnip, who one year forgot the summer chasin' the profits she lost. The following year, you'd better believe she watched those caterpillars like a Galumph - named of course for Leopold Galumph, a frog with eyesight so keen he could spot a pond mite on a skeeter's back from fifty Gullets! Gullets of course were named for Priscilla Gullet, who developed Wartwood's first unit of measurement.

I love Terry Pratchett’s Discworld books.

I was introduced to them via the Tiffany Aching story arc (which I now own). I have since found the first Discworld novel for free (Kindle version on Amazon for Prime subscribers) which has made me want to just read them all. Since buying 41 books is a huge investment of money and space - I am finally taking advantage of my local library card and am placing holds on the Rincewind story arc. I pay taxes for smooth roads and access to books - better take advantage of that resource so the local government knows it is important...

I think I am going to buy all the books in the Witches story arc - the way Terry Pratchett wrote about witches and witchcraft is amazing and I have already read the Tiffany Aching arc 3 times so I think I’ll want to reread the other Witch books as well. And investing in 6 books (bringing my grand total to 11 of the 41 books) feels doable at this point.
