Guys, guys, please look at this breathtaking piece of art I commissioned from @spell-fox!
I’ve have a habit of beating up myself when it comes to my writing and lack of any widespread success. This is doubly compounded by some very severe problems with anxiety and depression. A lot of days I want to give up and get a “real career” because it feels like I never make any progress.
But I think of Carrie Fisher, who fought her mental illness and made it funny and honest.
I think of @neil-gaiman, who creates worlds that feel so real you can touch them.
I think of @emilyvgordon, who encourages looking within yourself to find the strength you don’t know you have.
And when I think of them, I feel new inspiration and hope. So @spell-fox put them, and a relevant quote from each, together for me so that when I look up on my office wall, I know I need to keep going. These are my patron saints of creativity and perseverance.
This remarkable artist put together three important people in exactly the way I wanted. Her rates are incredibly reasonable, the turnaround time was FAST, and I got a physical piece of art to hang on my wall in addition to a high-quality scan.
