Knights of the Dawn:

Not even started yet, but it will be in the same universe as Ryft and Prisma. However, it will be much more similar to the works of David Eddings, with knights and such. I'm actually well known in this world, as is the Abyss. What happened here is that the Abyss was a bit too obvious here and now there's an ongoing war between the countries I support and the countries the Abyss controls.

Darkwatch:

Zeri is white-eyed Deep One who escaped the Abyss's plane and has no intention of going back! I know where they currently are, but in the interest of their privacy, you don't get to yet.

Commonly confused are Familiars and Companions.

Familiars are magical constructs created by Spellweavers. They most commonly take the form of an animal that can sometimes be seen in physical form, but can also be humanoid or invisible. Spellweavers can communicate telepathically with them and use them to easier deal with the magic they are working with (preventing overload). Usually only one is possible or needed but very powerful Spellweavers can create more, though they are always half of your current magic, so you are left much weaker.

Companions are Spiritual Beings (Sometimes ghosts, sometimes Angels or Demons, or sometimes something else entirely) that take up residence in a person's body. Companionship is mutually decided. A person may be contacted by the potential Companion via signs or dreams, or a person who wants to be a Companion Host may open their body to a Companion. Either party can also end the agreement at will, though most consider it similar to a divorce. Companions and their hosts share bodies but the schedule can be decided with your Companion. Companions can communicate internally or externally, it depends. Companions are almost always just one per host but very rarely someone may have more. Some may have one partner having abilities the other does not (like a Spellweaving Companion whose host doesn't have that knowledge) Companions are very rare. Very few people are willing to commit to it. However they are recognized by law. If one commits a crime that the other is innocent of, the innocent party is asked to end the agreement so the other can be dealt with.

An interesting topic is romance. Romance between Host and Companion seems somewhat common, though much more common is both partners having separate relationships.

Romantic relationships with Familiars on the other hand are seen as odd. As they are almost an extension of yourself, but others see it as a tad Pygmalion.
