So, this past week I sent out what I've determined as the last of the original sperels that will ever be available for online adoption. In the adoption center, you'll now see that the original sperels are no longer available :( HOWEVER, there is one last box of 24 original sperels that are only just slightly not quite cute enough to make it into the online adoption shop, and then there's one more box which I've labeled as 'Factory Accidents' due to, well, the sperels in that box looking a bit mashed and injured. At some point in the future I'll be taking these sperels, both the 'slightly-not-cute-enoughs' and the 'factory-accidents', to conventions where they'll be available at discounted adoption prices. But between now and then, if any of our long distance fans missed the chance at getting one of the originals and would like to snatch up one of the 'slightly-not-cute-enough' versions before they're gone for good, you can drop us a message and we'll let you choose the sperel that you like most from a photo of the ones which still remain. ALSO, we've got lots of fun photos of the baby sperels that will be going online soon in conjunction with pre-adoptions (finally!) becoming available! The sperels' primary factory activist has informed us that he'll be confirming a shipping date for the new sperels within the next few days! For now though, here's a comparison shot of the original prototype and one of the baby prototypes to give a solid sense of the differences between the two :) Cute!
For DesignerCon, the sperels wanted their table display to convey the drudgery of their oppression, so we brought little mining carts for the buttons, and decorated the table surface to resemble a factory environment. Now let's see if one of these sperels can escape the table to go fly around and enjoy some of the other amazing booths at DesignerCon :)
Rufus is taking a train to San Francisco starting in 2 days! (this Tuesday, July 29th) He's so excited!

Alright, SDCC Saturday is here, so that means... NEW SPEREL PLUSHIE REVEAL!!!
These little sperels (~6" in height) are currently in the process of escaping the factory, and should be reaching us sometime in the early months of 2015. In prototype form, their eyes are made of paper, but the finalized sperels will have embroidered (and yes, purple) little sad eyes.
So what do you all think? Could they be any cuter?!?
