(Paper) Stars in Your Eyes
Franco Colapinto x Reader
Masterlist
Summary: You show your appreciation to Franco’s new F1 fans by making little trinkets for him to give as a thank you.
Note: My third post and the first that isn’t Max Verstappen or angst… just a little Drabble because I came across an old tiktok about paper stars 💙

You’re sitting in the Williams garage at the small table set up inside of Franco’s driving room, it was a small room but there was enough space for the case of paper you’d brought along this morning and hauled onto the desk, using it to entertain yourself while he was in and out of meetings and conversations before and after qualifying.
The day seemed to pass slowly, in a bit of a blur regardless as you worked tirelessly to finish your mini project, cutting, sticking, folding, occasionally glancing to the show you had put on your phone while you worked, admittedly getting distracted a handful of times.
Hours pass as you sit alone like that in the musty drivers room, it smells like a garage, generally, with the slight stench of race suit after Franco had hung it back up earlier before changing back into Williams gear for his last few interviews.
“Hey? Where’s mi amor?” Franco asks just outside the door to one of the mechanics who’d been milling around adjusting the car so it was race-ready for tomorrow. “Hardly been out of the room. Your PR manager took some food in, but, I don’t know. Must be busy watching that stupid show without you.” The mechanic joked, a small smirk on his face as he juts his chin towards the door of Franco’s driver room, hidden at the back of the garage.
Franco’s eyebrows fold inward and there’s a silent annoyance written onto his face at the mechanic’s words, hoping his love wasn’t watching the show they’d started together a few days earlier and been working their way through, you’d seemed fine the past few days but this morning you’d been secretive about a box that had been brought from the hotel, he reassured himself that it must be something to do with that.
You’d never betray him by watching a ‘together show’ without being together. Franco gave a curt nod before moving to the door, knocking and waiting a moment before opening it.
“Y/N? Mi corazón?” As he entered his eyes widened in confusion when he seen what you’d been holed up here doing. He approached to stand behind you, a laugh bubbling up in his throat.
“Paper stars? You’re such a dork, I hate to say it but you missed that Tiktok trend by like four years baby. What are you doing?” His grin was wide and playful as he began to massage your shoulders from behind while you kept folding, deft fingers working quickly despite being numb from the many little origami’s that you’d made by now, the finished paper stars being put into a large basket to your left.
You weren’t laughing though, deadly serious as you turned to look at him with an objection to his laughter. “Franco, it’s not funny. I feel bad!” You whined, shaking your head quickly.
“You have so many more fans now that you’re in F1 than in F2, the fans… they keep giving me friendship bracelets or little sweets and… and… I feel bad when you can’t stop for pictures if you’re busy. I thought I’d make some paper stars so that you can give them one, or I can, I guess? Just a little apology or a thank you for supporting you? You know?” Franco’s teasing look melted away at your sincere words, replaced by a look of awe.
“You’re the most amazing person I’ve ever known, I’m so lucky to have someone like you.” He said softly, he leant down to touch his lips to your forehead, stroking your hair out of your face. “You wanna teach me?”
