Like many people, I was captivated by the leggy teapot Sarah Duyer made eight years ago or thereabouts. This isn't exactly it -- I didn't feel up to doing the stripe pattern of the black glaze dripping down each leg -- but it's based on it in every other way and is a study I did in preparation for something else I hope to do with it.

Also I might go back and add a shadow under it and a color background, but for now I wanted to scan it the way it is in case something horrible happens during that stage.

My spider teapots have made their way around the web (get it?), but I haven’t spent much time talking about the work and time that goes into making them.

Also this week: playing around with new ideas, and a new playlist for the studio!
