Spider vs. Diabrotica (Spotted Cucumber Beetle) — our garden is getting eaten by cucumber beetles. I hate killing anything, but I had to squish 30+ of these vegetarian insects to save our food + flowers today. I saw one get stuck in a spider web.. I watched the battle (guess who won?). I wish we had enough spiders in the garden to take care of all of the invasive pests, but it’s going to be a manual, daily squish process to get rid of as many cucumber beetles as I can. If anyone has any suggestions for organically keeping this species out of our garden, please let me know.
