Yeah I prefer GamKan but it’s not my only ship anymore. I just feel like GamRezi came out nowhere and the way it became canon was so out of left field and forced.
What are your others?
And I don't know, the way I see it happening since a lot of things are left way behind the scenes and stuff, is that she hates Gamzee. Despises him, loathes his very existence and the way he is and acts and all the heinous things he's done. As a wannabe legislacerator, she wants to convict him - have him hang. But she's done some bad herself. She despises him but not to the point of killing like he's stated about her. She finds enough attraction to him to battle the repulsive feelings and the stabby-dicey convict the felon ones as well. I feel like one day she confronted him in the shadows and started talking at him heatedly, her hatred slipped into something of a passionate tirade, mistaking it for caliginous feelings he probably advanced on that. She found she wasn't necessarily opposed and allowed it to continue. Their dark flirting continued and boom, kismesis.
And I considered GamKan as a ship, like "oh hey yeah that could work" but then I ship Rosemary too hard and feel like Kanaya would be too preoccupied with Rose to even consider another quadrant yet, if ever - though in my personal hopes they just stick with each other for the most part, maybe have a moirail or become auspictices to somebody. But I don't want either to hatedate anyone else, in my personal hope.
Also theirs is just a platonic hate - well, on Kanaya's side, I don't know if Gamzee really feels much of anything about that. She's stated that a lot and I agree and see it in just that way and she's pretty much over it anyway. I see her still having a grudge and all but I feel like she's dropped Gamzee for now.
