She stared him down, watched him yell at her, bring back old wounds that she’s clung to and hidden for so long. It stung to hear them talked about again, stung to hear them brought up and shoved into her face again. – He changed his words then. Her expression looked almost pained.
“..And then what? We just leave them there and forget about everyone?
What about those we’ve grown to call friends? What about them? “
A defeated sigh. It had been ages, or, at least that’s what if felt like.
Since she had proper rest.
“…Should we really just.. go back home?”
The prince stared Muffet in the eyes. He squinted at her, measuring her resolve. He knew he had struck deep in her. It pained him to do that. But the pain was worth it if she would yield, go home, and relax, even if for a few moments.
There was a brief moment of pause, as he collected his words. His train of thought was cut off by her sigh.
At her question, he all but eagerly responded.
“What harm is there in taking a dip just for a little bit~? Everyone already knows we’re just wandering anyways! Nobody will even know if we’re gone for an hour or two. We’ll be back as soon as you get some sleep! And not a moment before, Miss Muffet!” Asriel tried to take a demanding tone with the spider, going so far as to place his hands on his hips, and to give her a taste of her own menacing stare.
...He’d been around her too long, and it was actually getting scary how well he could mimic her expressions now.
