Water Sprite: Majolica Majorca Little Humming Book II Blue and Gold Doll-Eye Makeup Tutorial
—
Here’s a peek into the Little Humming Bird II Eyeshadow Palette, which Shiseido released to celebrate Majolica Majorca’s 10th Year Anniversary as part of its Chapter 37 limited edition collection.
(And yes the melody book is a continuation of what you find in Book I.)
Comparisons with Book I:
The cream base is a pearlescent tan shade rather than dark matte one so the overall effect you get from the palette will be quite pale and pastel
Shadows are a translucent pastel aqua-blue and pale gold, but they don’t have the same duochrome effect (like the ones in the 1st palette) if you layer them over a dark base
I also used:
A dark blue liner (I used KATE gel liner in BU-1)
A black liquid liner (I used Heroine Make Impact Liquid liner)
Red Cherry lashes #68
D.E. lower cluster lashes
—
Step 1: I applied the tan cream base in the palette over my entire lid.
—
Step 2: I applied dark blue liner along the lash line and then smudged it out slightly so there are no obvious lines. This is meant to intensify the color later.
—
Step 3: Using the blue shadow, apply to the outer half of the lids and drag it out past the outer corner into a wing. Then on the inner half of the lids, apply the pale gold up to the socket line.
—
Step 4: Above the socket line, go back in with the 2 shades, but reverse the order this time. Apply the blue in the inner half.
—
Step 5: On the outer half, up to the brow bone, apply the pale gold.
—
Step 6: Apply black liquid liner along the upper lash line, ending in a short flick. Then apply it onto the outer 1/3 of the lower lash line as well. This emphasizes the eye further.
Run a little more along the inner rims of the upper lash line as well just to cover any obvious flesh showing. If you’re not confident of applying it right at the base of the lashes, don’t try this with liquid liner.
—
Step 7: Apply spiky false lashes to give a more doll-like appearance. I used #68s from Red Cherry because they are arranged in very separated and defined clusters.
I also applied a short strip of lower lashes to the outer corners of the eye. This is completely optional but adds to that doll-eye effect.

And that’s it!
