Today is World Meningitis Day. Meningitis is most commonly, a serious viral or bacterial infection, that affects the brain and spinal cord. Meningitis is inflammation of the meninges, the membranes encompassing your brain and spinal cord. The most tell-tale sign is a stiff neck and/or back, with a severe headache and fever, due to the swelling of the membranes.
