Been neglecting my blogs
Just got back from an amazing weekend with my lovely girlfriend missdollydeex at our Wildfire Retreat. Felt ridiculously nice to go back home to see some familiar and loving faces and introduce my woman to my spinning arts family. Go to her blog if you wish to see some of the photos we took, as well as videos of myself eating fire and spinning poi. I'd post them here, but they're her photos so why not direct your attention to her blog. Eating fire for the first time in a while was, to say the least, AWESOME!
I do however wish I had the time to take the firebreathing classes they offered over the weekend, but sadly they were at the same time as my poi classes. Oh well, there will always be next year I suppose. Above all though, it was really nice for once to truly see my woman so at peace and happy, even being amongst total strangers for the most part. I don't think I've ever truly seen her smile so much before in the entirety that I've known yet (yet alone been together with her), and to have shared such a magical weekend with her was the best time I myself have ever had. I learned how to make bullwhips and tinkered around with some new poi tricks to add to my repertoire, bought myself new fire poi even. The money I had saved up for new gadgets was a bit overkill, as I was able to buy the following: Cigars from a local tobacco shop we found in Connecticut; 2 pairs of eating torches; new fire poi and practice poi; a new gear bag; the cutest earrings for my girlfriend; and lastly, a set of palm torches for her as she has found a complete love and adoration for using palm torches in tandem with her dancing. Which she promptly teamed up with other palm torchers to perform a sultry and most playfully seductive choreography on the burn field shortly after them being purchased.
Said choreography followed soon after with many people approaching me to remind me that my girlfriend is quite beautiful and "hot" (yes, pun intended). I didn't mind it however, since it was done tastefully with no hint of any particular person flirting with her :p. The lake at the retreat was gorgeous the first half of the weekend, which of course we took full advantage of swimming in whenever we weren't busy flailing shiny things around. Her and I had spent a week prior to the event bagging up some of our loose tea to share with everyone, as I recalled from my previous wildfires that we only had icky teabag tea to get cozy with on the colder nights. Everyone in the community loved the tea and our efforts in hand-tying almost 700 loose tea sachets that they gave the two of us the coveted beaver award, which is essentially an extra thank you appreciation token from the community. Damn near made me tear up to see so many people so grateful and happy from such a simple gesture. We most certainly will be bringing good tea from now on with us to every wildfire to keep those faces smiling! Anyways, I do believe that this is sufficient ramblings from myself for the evening, goodnight tumblr (or goodmorning, whichever need apply to you) Until next time!
