| Star | Ga-In and Seunghyun |
Should I?
Ga-In paced back and forth inside her room, her favorite red coat hooked on her arm. Is this a good idea? A flood of thoughts surrounded her, as if the words were taunting her, forcing her to break down into pieces. “I’m not doing this because I’m going to use him, no,” she spoke, looking down at her bed where a huge suitcase laid, all her clothes sprawled all over it. “I want to be happy.”
“He said he’ll protect me,” Ga-In laughed a little before she wore her coat. It wasn’t like she can’t protect herself, but the thought of that idea itself made her feel special. People always treated her with force, as if she was some kind of greek god that only gets stronger when wounded; with Seunghyun’s words, she felt that he was wrapping her in a gentle embrace, afraid to rip her apart. Though she is a strong woman both physically and mentally, her emotions says otherwise. “I have nobody else to turn to except for him.”
Closing her suitcase, Ga-In headed towards the door, but before she opened it, she glanced back once again to look at the make-believe home she lived in for God knows how many years. A sigh went past her lips as she uttered a silent bye, leaving all the bitter memories as she closed the door behind her.
The journey towards Seunghyun’s place didn’t take too long, making her much more nervous than she was earlier. It shouldn’t be like this. She held her chest as she quietly pulled her suitcase, standing awkwardly in front of his door. “Seunghyun-ah,” she timidly called out, a part of her wanting to back out and the another part glued her to where she was standing. Her finger automatically pressed the door bell, as she waited anxiously on the front porch.
Cold breeze went by as she continued to wait. Afraid that she might annoy him, she didn’t press the bell anymore but she couldn’t help but wonder if he’d heard her. “Maybe he didn’t?” she quietly asked, mentally slapping herself for acting like a giddy little child whenever it comes to him. Taking a deep breath, she gathered all her confidence back, stepped forward and knocked on his door once more.
I will be happy.
