The hug catches him more than just a little bit by surprise. He freezes, unable to really say or do anything for a few seconds. It has been so many years since the last time he received one. It almost feels like this is the first time someone wraps their arms around him. Though it’s also a little… Weird. Marcus doesn’t feel any warmth that hugs usually give. Nor does he feel any cold.It’s just her arms around him. After dying, temperatures in general have become so foreign. Unable to feel the warmth of the sun or the cold temperature of snow.
But that doesn’t stop the ghost from appreciating it. Hugs have always been among his favorite things. So getting one now makes him a bit emotional.
After taking a deep breath and eyes close, arms wrap around Nariko to return the embrace. Lips form a smile.

Marcus blinks at the question. It catches him more than just a little bit off guard. He stays quiet for a moment, trying to figure out how to respond. There’s no way he wants to give even the smallest hint of what’s really going on in that head of his. Negativity is far from useful-- besides, there’s more than enough of it in the world already. What people need is positivity. Someone who is capable of distracting people from the big violent mess that this city is.
For him, being negative is not an option. That’s not who he’s supposed to be. People don’t need that version of him. It’s definitely best for everyone to just keep it hidden. Can’t let anyone find out. If someone does, then--
