The Scrubber is the first sub weapon introduced to Splatoon Splash! This weapon is thrown onto the ground, soaking up any enemy ink in an area around it, including enemy ink that is shot at it. Once the Scrubber is full, it explodes into ally ink.
Piranha Bomb
The Piranha Bomb is another sub weapon within Splatoon Splash. This weapon is a ball filled with ink and three mechanical fish. When the ball is thrown, it opens, letting the fish and ink fly out. The fish will then lock onto any nearby enemies and will swim towards them, biting at them.
So I think it's basically common knowledge at this point that Splatoon 3 will be the end of the current story arc (I doubt that the series is gonna end here; there's just so much that can be explored in this series and also S3 sold really damn well at launch), which could mean the end of the Squidbeak Splatoon arc. If this is the case, then what sorta journey could we go on in the next Splatoon game (which I will refer to as Splatoon Future; it just sounds better than Splatoon 4)? Well, I have two ideas:
Some sort of vigilante-style story. The player's character, along with a few other characters in the new story mode, are witness to a huge crime in... wherever Splatoon Future takes place in (weither it be Splatsville, Inkopolis, Calamari County if it happens, or somwhere new entirely) and the characters collectively agree to get to the bottom of all of this. As for what the crime could be? I mean there's a bunch of possibilities. Another idol being kidnapped (might be repetitive though). An insane act of vandalisim (like a specific building being destroyed or something like that). Something crazy that can tie into the story.
A story exploring the strange occurances in some parts of the past few games (the laughing statues in S1, the boss battle screams in S1, the telephone ringing in S2, the mummy in Unami Ruins in S3). Dunno how that could be exicuted but it's be pretty cool to see where the devs go with that.
As of now that's all I really got. I might make a part two if I think of anything else (which might not be for a while since I'm holding onto an idea for something I'm working on) idk.
So I've been seeing folks online talk about a potential 3rd Side Order trailer since next month we're more likely than not getting a new nintendo direct. I definitely think that might be the case since we're closer than ever to Side Order's release (I mean come on it's been a year we need this NOW). But what would the new trailer focus on? How would it look like? Well, this is what I hope the new trailer is like...
Right out the gate we get a bit more info on the story. News reports flash on screen talking about someone who's gone missing to forshadow what happened to Marina without explicitly saying that Marina is, in fact, missing (this scene can also be interpreted as news reports covering dedf1sh's disappearence). After a few seconds the music crescendos and then the screen goes blank.
Now there's three things that I feel like it should follow the news reports:
we get a bit more gameplay, maybe something showing off the rival enemies datamined a few months back (just a heads up this isn't one of the newer leaks so don't worry :D) or another aspect of gameplay.
Acht monolouging about how they felt when they were still friends with Marina while we get a bit more gameplay or something; maybe they can stylize this bit of the trailer like the first Side Order trailer (I love how the teaser kept us guessing what's even going on; the one thing I didn't quite like is how early we got the trailer and how long it took for solid, non-datamined info to come out. considering that the DLC's coming out in a few months, maybe one month when the next trailer comes out, I'd be fine with another trailer like that to keep up hyped and speculating about the story)
(a callback to a previous post of mine theorizing about weither or not we're getting a new years' animation inspired by Side Order... we didn't get that undfortunately...) The rest of the trailer's short and simple yet we can still make some theories. We see Acht, Eight, and Pearlbot vibing in the elevator with some elevator music playing. But as the scene progresses, we get to hear more and more of a piece of audio, forshadowing what may or may not have happnened to Marina or maybe a flashback to before Acht got sanitized (or was about to). After a while, the screen goes black and we see the Side Order textbox (or a different variant of them) pop up. "Are you sure you want to go through with this?" says the first line of text. The textbox changes. "Yes. This is for the greater good.". Neither textbox uses character voicelines or has character names/icons on them.
After one of these three scenarios plays out, the screen fades out to another new screen which reads "Side Order". The text fades away and then we finally get the release date for the DLC after a year plus of waiting.
Villain Marina outfit idea I had. Dunno if I'll make a digital version of this tho.
Used one of the images in the first Side Order teaser as inspo
The wires coming out of the top of Marina's hat are connected to that cone thingy at the end of the second Side Order trailer (Marina's thoughts, memories, ect help form the Order Sector).
Whirlpool: a special that causes you to summon a huge, dagger-like device and lodge it into the floor. Once the dagger fully goes into the ground, it'll open up a vortex made out of ink, pulling in nearby players. Players can try to escape its pull, but it'll be a bit difficult. If the player gets too close to the center, then they will get completely sucked into the whirpool and get splatted. As time passes, the dagger will pull itself out of the ground & once it's fully out of the ground the special will end.
MimINK: a special that allows you to create 3 clones of your player character completely made out of a special kind of ink. These clones will attack nearby enemies for you. These clones have a lower attack power than you on their own, but when all 3 clones gang up on a single target, then they will most likely get a kill for you. These clones can be killed by enemies, so if all 3 clones get splatted, the special ends. When the special ends, the clones will come flying towards you and cause a ink explosion (reminicent of ink eplosions from the Grizzco Dualies) which can destroy nearby bombs and take away half of any nearby enemies' HP (if they're close to you).
Deep Ink: causes your ink color to temporarily change to the same one the enemy team is using. To the user and their teammates, the user will still be squirting their team's ink color, but to the opposing team it'll appear that one of their teammates are just completing the objective. As the special begins to wear off, the user's true ink color will breifly flash it's normal color to the opposing side and then when the special completely wears off the player's ink color will go back to normal along with all the turf they inked. Enemies can splat a player using Deep Ink if they can figure out they're not one of their own teammates and players with thermal ink can detect people actively using Deep Ink.
Rayve: pull out a boombox that plays music that causes nearby enemies to start dancing, allowing you and your teammates to get some free kills. Enemies can try to escape the rave, but their run speed will be greatly decreased. Also, you and your teammates will also have a slightly decreased run speed and attack power if in the radius of the boombox, but not as much as the enemy team. When the special ends, all players, including teammates in the radius of the boombox will strike one last pose before the song ends, paralyzing all players within the boombox's radius.
Wazzup wazzup everyone! So I've been seeing a bunch of concepts for next season (kinda sensible since Sizzle Season was sort of a letdown) and I decided "Hey, why don't I make some concepts myself?" And so here we are! Anyways, let's get this show started!
Custom Spawners
Okay, so this one's been alrady conceptualized by others already but I kind of want to build onto it. I like the idea of being able to change the color of the spawners and add stickers, but let's take it a step forward: new variants! Instead of being restricted to the good ol' coffee machine we've known since that fateful February in 2021, we should be able to get spawners in completely different styles! The variants wouldn't add anything to gameplay and would be completely for asthetic reasons, but it'd give us some more customization options! Here's some ideas for variants:
A clam shell
A tiki head
A toy shark (mirroring how Shiver respawns in RotM)
A UFO
Drone (looking sort of like the helicopters in Splatoon 2)
2. New Stages
Alright now for something a bit more original: what new stages should we get next season? Welp, when it comes to returning stages, WE NEED URCHIN UNDERPASS BACK DAMNNIT!!! Urchin Underpass is one of the most iconic stages in the Splatoon series. Hell, it's even in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for god's sake! What better way to celebrate Splatoon 3's aniversary than to bring back one of the best stages in the series! Also, I'm just so sick and tired of only being able to play on the stage in Mario Kart (I... never played the first game...). However, if we're getting Side Order next season, maybe we can bring back Starfish Mainstage or The Reef (two of the stages shown off in the S2's reveal trailer) instead. Anyways when it comes to new stages I've been thinking maybe we can get a stage in a movie theater. The stage would have its own unique mechanic where halfway through the battle the lighting becomes darker, making it slightly harder to see enemies, with only a few areas of the stage being lit up a bit, adding onto the entire chaos theme of S3. As for what this stage would be called... I'd call it "Deep Blue Cinema".
3. New Gear
Okay so since there's a bunch of evidence suggesting that Side Order might be coming out soon, Naturally folks would want some gear from S2 to come back. However, I think we can do more with that. Maybe we should add in gear resembling Agent 4 and 8's hero gear (including armor because seriously I love the armor sets in S2 they just look so cool), too (since Side Order's a new hero mode, duh). Other than that, I don't have that much to say here.
4. New Weapons/Specials
When it comes to new kits for existing weapon types, we should get a new stringer kit (fitting for the game's anniversary), a new dynamo roller (GOLDEN DYNAMO), a new undercover brella (unpopular opinion; I was an undercover enjoyer in S2, after all; I'm waiting for a good kit for the weapon to come out) and perhaps new splat dualies. When it comes to new specials (we already had new wepons this season), the only one I could think about is some sort of special that creates copies of your character made out of ink that can go and attack folks on the other team (these clones don't respawn after getting splatted).
5. SIDE ORDER RELEASE!!!
This category speaks for itself. WE NEED SIDE ORDER TO COME OUT AND FAST. Strands of code have been discovered for Side Order in the game's code and we know the big reward for Side Order already, so it looks like Side Order's coming out very soon. People have been speculating we'd be getting more official news on the DLC during the S3 World Championships (Sept. 4th), and i feel like that possibility isn't too far fetched. As for when the DLC could launch (if it comes out next season), the DLC could probably launch on Sept. 9th (S3's anniversary).
Anyways, that was some of the stuff that I hope comes out next season! What do y'all want to in Drizzle Season 2023 Tell me in da comments/reblogs!
