On the left: gym leader Piers from Pokemon: Sword & Shield. I have written at length about why he is the best character in Pokemon and why everything about his design is genius, and I have also written at length about why he represents everything about SWSH's story that was a letdown for me. The duality of man.
On the right: Ikkan from the Splatoon series. He's appeared in two games- as part of the main band from 1 and a side band from 2. He has next to no characterization, especially if you're only looking at english-language sources. I adore him and his dumb music taste and his alley cat boyfriend.
