July 6, 1963 - Blood Feast first premieres at the Bel Air Drive-In in Peoria, Illinois.

The horror splatter film was directed by Herschell Gordon Lewis. Lewis also wrote the story along with David F. Friedman while the screenplay was written by Allison Louise Downe. It starred Mal Arnold, William Kerwin, Connie Mason, Lyn Bolton and Scott H. Hall.

The film was shot in six days (give or take a day or two depending on the source) in Miami, Florida on a budget of about $24,000.

We’re finally back with the belated conclusion of our discussion on the original Violent Sh*t movies by Andreas Schnaas. Here @grindhousecellar and @revterry focus on the second film in the classic German no-budget, splatter-horror series Violent Sh*t II: Mother Hold My Hand (1992), which follows the exploits of Karl the Butcher Jr. as he seeks to avenge his father and make his mother proud by dispatching random citizens around town. Picking up where they left off in Part 1, the hosts discuss the slasher film’s welcome inclusion of the iconic metal mask, butt-rock, and left-field kung-fu choreography.
