Ok ok I know there isn’t much of a fan base for TLHOD but I definitely definitely recommend reading it- Hjgfdgfhgjh Listen my brain lights up like a pinball machine whenever I’m reading sci-fi or fantasy and the story is just full of worldbuilding and yeah I don’t vibe with how a lot of the story is phrased and structured BUT.... the social miscommunications are fuckin rampant in this book and it’s namely because of a lil bitch social code called shifgrethor which is all about subtlety and implications over stating your cut-and-dry intentions and opinions

What I mean is there’s a scene in the book right before a lot of things go to hell where it’s Estraven’s perspective from their diary entries and they’re just like “insulted the envoy to his face and blatantly broke shifgrethor. He took it calmly as legitimate advice. ....I’m starting to get really concerned that he hasn’t been picking up on my meanings for the past year now- I.... I don’t think he can read subtlety. I was blunt as fucking possible and he still didn’t pick up on it. God I hope he figures this out before the government kidnaps him or something.”

*Genly voice* hmm Estraven vaguely told me to be suspicious of the people I’ve been working with but I can NEVER understand their motives so I’ll stay suspicious of THEM instead. What’s this? Secret police, you’re arresting me? Kidnapping me in fact? It’s almost as if Estraven has been trying to tell me something related to this and more since last spring!!

It’s Valentine’s Day! To anyone who follows me or likes the stuff I post, or really anyone down to vibe or who could use it: we’re platonic palentines now.

Physically, I’m just a funny little person with a funny little blog as usual, but emotionally, I’m opening the door for you and welcoming you in. I make you tea. We talk while I make dinner in the kitchen and the windows get all steamed up, and you help set out the plates. We watch a movie together and talk the whole time, about the plot, about the characters, about anything. We clean up the dishes and put on our coats- I walk you to your bus stop, or partway home, or however long we like. Our breath steams in the winter air. I point out the moon to you, the snow on the tree branches, the calmness of the night. When we part we will know each other a little better than when the evening began. 💛

Hxhjjhkj stayed up until very-late-o’clock last night designing a dnd system with my friend who’s dming so we can figure out how much stress will make my character turn into a werewolf and it was ABSOLUTELY worth it

You know what? It’s 2021 and I’m going to let myself be more proud of my art. I know not many people follow me but I’ve decided I’m going to start posting about my ocs, dnd characters, the story I’m writing, and other art in addition to the fanart and comics I already make. I’ve only been on tumblr since last spring and in general haven’t had much confidence in my art, but making fanart and sharing it has helped a lot with that, especially recently. My art style is constantly changing and improving and it wasn’t the same as it was a few months or a year ago, and I’m excited to see how it progresses in the future. I try to read as many notes left on my posts as I can, and they’ve all been very kind and thoughtful. When people like a post, I think ‘hey, I made something that they’ll want to see again later’, and when people reblog it or leave notes I think ‘hey!!! They liked this so much they want other people to see it! I made something that this person wants others to enjoy too :) ’ and while of course you don’t have to do either, it’s been extremely encouraging for me and I want to thank you all for that!
