Splinter family au: Chapter 1
The next day was just as cold as the previous one. Snow was blanketed thick, almost knee deep. Splinter used what he had, and created a makeshift sling to carry the eggs with him and keep them warm. He made sure they remained covered by the sling and his coat, to keep what little body heat he had to keep them cosy.
Trudging through the snow was no easy task, it was Ice cold to the point that tiny icicles formed on his whiskers from the wind and snow. The weather showed no mercy, leaving his legs feeling numb. Thankfully the eggs were safe and warm thanks to what little precautions he took earlier before leaving the home. After an unknown time had passed, he finally arrives In the City. His disguise was not much, however It served Its purpose. Suddenly he detected the scent of bread and confectionaries of all kinds. Looking around in the general direction of these scents, was a cafe. No humans seem to see it due to the Youkai mystic energy hiding it.
Upon entering this lovely shop, all sorts of smells permeate the air. A single young lady was busy baking a batch of bread in a brick oven, what was strange was she seemed to look human. Splinter snapped out of his thoughts when she appeared before him,"Greetings. How may I help today sir?." He paused for a moment to collect his thoughts, then with a soft smile responded."I have no money to offer in exchange for food."
The young lady smiled a moment, shaking her head in amusement."Its okay sir. Let me bring you something on the house."
He had no time to further say anything, that the food was brought over to him and placed on a small tray.
Splinter looks to her a moment,"You are so kind to me. Why is my question."
Her answer was simple,"You seem to need it. Im also the owner of this cafe. Its my decision to give you food."
As she started busying herself to get more foods ready, Splinter was left to his thoughts.
His past was only filled with the need for fame and glory. Having being the top gladiator for so long, kindness was the last thing on his mind let alone winning every match.
After a moment the foods smells were enough to make him realise how hungry he was.
He was also going to have to make a more permanent plan on how to take care of these eggs.
