Skinny girls can be pretty too, even if we're white.
I am getting really tired of seeing things like "Skinny white girl does 'X'" or "Oh, sure, another skinny white girl, let's see some big black girls" from activists because, I mean, HELLOOO, that is devaluing girls just because they are white, and/or thin. You're so damn concerned about your bigger black girls and shit, I mean, sure, society don't paint a pretty picture, but public media promoting thinness and light skin as pretty =/= online community should debunk all confidence a "skinny white girl" can have in herself.
here's what I'm experiencing:
Black girl of average weight: wow, I look great today!
Public response: Yeah! You do! Go confidence!
White girl who is somewhat thin/underweight: Hey, I think I look pretty good today too!
Public response: eeew why are you so overconfident, you're so full of yourself, You look just as good as everyone else get over yourself. stop promoting bad body image!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!
now, I know this happens with guys too, but I've been seeing it for girls a lot, which is why I focused on females.
