yeah like idk, when i was younger i was like i am chicana, but my parents were like no you are not you’re cousin who is half white and half mexican is or like mexican kids who dont speak spanish are and i was like oK IF YOU SAY SO

I’m guessing this is relating to yesterday’s post. I’ll keep this short as possible but basically we were doing quiet times for a little bit on Sunday, meaning we find a quiet spot to dwell on God’s word/pray/have fellowship with God if that makes sense.

So I went down by the lakeside and didn’t really read my Bible or anything I just sorta listened to the nature around me. All I could hear was the wind in the trees, the rippling lake, and the birds. But at a certain point the wind died down and the lake became silent.

But the birds were still singing. 

I’m hardly out of town, so there’s always the sound of cars and all sorts of noises. I wanted to make the most of the mountain camp we went to. And for me to hear the birds continuously singing in the silence made me think of something. The verse Psalm 150:6, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord”.

Yea obviously birds are singing for territorial and communication purposes. But now I like to see birds singing as a metaphor for giving God praise for the good in my life. Not just on sunday, not just every night when I read my Bible, but all the time. When I come across a good song on Pandora. When I get to talk to a friend I haven’t seen a while. You know, small things that make a day better. Not just the big things.

Gonna stop there but ahhhhhh I love birds even more now because of that. <3
