hey uh not for nothing but it would be so much easier to talk about the ableism issues with how jack is treated/depicted if you guys could learn to understand that bigotry doesn’t necessarily have to be intentional and outright cruel for it to be harmful. that sometimes it is accidental or made with good/harmless intentions but that doesn’t make it less bigoted in the long run. If we could just move past that one square we could actually have a conversation 👍
I just wrote this on Twitter to cement its place in the #ThankYouSupernatural and #SPNFamilyForever tags, but I’m also going to put this here. I wrote love letters to the fandom on December 31st as well. But I do love y’all, and I love this cast, and I love this crew. Just because filming is over, and we only have a few episodes left, doesn’t mean it suddenly goes away. <3 (And yes, I intentionally wrote 15 tweets)

This time last year, I was gearing up to brace myself for the spring when we were supposed to see the last day on set photos, and then saw the final episodes. Instead, we unwillingly had to take part in the longest goodbye. #ThankYouSupernatural
There's so much that I am personally thankful for, that I know my friends are thankful for, and then we see the cast and crew express their thanks and love all around. It's heartbreaking, especially this year, but it's also bracing.
I, personally, am thanking this show, cast, crew, for inspiring me in many ways. First, it was picking up art supplies & getting to work with some fanart. Then, it was sitting my ass down in front of a computer and writing stories I was proud of for the first time in my life.
I'm also personally thankful for this show because of the fandom it created, bumps and bruises included. I wrote a love letter to the fandom on New Years Eve on Tumblr as we were all realizing we had turned the corner into the final stretch.
I'm also thankful for all the charity work that has been done, and how personable the cast and crew is. Sometimes it's for better or for worse, but regardless, we have this dynamic that few other shows can say they have. It DOES feel like we're part of a family.
I'm thankful for outstanding writing and acting that really helped me escape life sometimes when it was too frustrating. I began watching the show in the summer between 8 and 9 during a really rough time and it instantly helped me feel calmer (ironically lol).
I'm thankful we had this show for so long. My biggest fear when I had started watching it was that I was only going to get a season or 2 before it was over. I was used to shorter shows. But I got to spend seven years with this show more or less. And for that I'm grateful
I'm thankful that this show and fandom has inspired others. I've never seen such a creative fandom when it comes to art, writing, and other creative outlets. Charity events, jewelry, clothing, digital and traditional art, WONDERFUL stories.
That's one thing I hope people really remember about the show and its connection with the fandom, just how inspirational it was for countless others who put so much good into the world with their creative spirit and good heart.
This long goodbye has been one of the hardest things we've ever had to deal with both on the fandom side and I can imagine on the cast and crew side. This year took a sharp right into Weirdoland and how we thought the finale was going to play out was suddenly suspended.
But I'm thankful for the cast & the crew and really the whole #SPNFam for working together to get through such a rough time. I know the weirdness is continuing, but I'm very thankful the cast and crew figured out a way to get back on set to finish. It couldn't have been easy
During the last several months, since it was announced SPN had halted production combined with just the stress of life at the time, I deviated away from social media and wasn't in the fandom as much as I usually am. But even time I checked back in, it was full of love.
That's what I'm truly thankful for. Just this entire environment built with hard work for both cast and crew and the fandom side of things. It's why this fandom won't go away any time soon.
Honestly, I could write a book with how thankful I am for this show, that I stumbled into the show, for all the blood sweat, and tears that have been put into the show and subsequently, the fandom--I think we all could.
These messages will start up again as the season continues shortly, and then there really will be novel-length tweet threads and Tumblr posts as we approach the finale. I guess we should all start drafting those now! #ThankYouSupernatural for everything. #SPNFamilyForever
This is my entry for @thing-you-do-with-that-thing SPN Hiatus Writing Challenge Week #4. The prompt is “Your supposed to talk me out of this.”
A/N: I was almost gonna skip this one, but them an idea popped into my head today. Here goes!
Master List
Characters: Sam Winchester, Dean Winchester, Reader
“I’m not going.” You said stubbornly. "I don’t care how many times I get possessed. I’m not doing it. You can’t make me.”
Life as a hunter was not without its share of injuries. You had been slashed, cut, burned, and hit so many times you had lost count. You cleaned up and moved on. That’s what hunters did.
But a bad experience with a tetanus shot as a kid had left you with a deathly fear of needles. It was ridiculous really. Sam and Dean had stitched you up many times, and you barely flinched. But get a flu shot? No freaking way!
You had been hunting with the Winchesters for about a year now, and sleeping with Sam for about half of that. They both knew you didn’t like shots, but they had no idea how phobic you were until a hunt went wrong and you were possessed. Then your dirty little secret was exposed.
Luckily for you, Sam could spit out an exorcism with the speed and skill of Eminem, and the demon was forcibly removed from your body.
You were still unconscious when Sam carried you to the Impala, and when you came to, you were lying across his lap in the back seat. “What happened?” You asked groggily.
“You were possessed, Y/N,” Sam said angrily. A muscle in his jaw clenched, and you could tell he was furious.
“Possessed?” You said weakly.
“You don’t have an anti-possession tattoo, do you?” Dean said softly, your eyes meeting his in the mirror. “How did you not notice, Sammy?”
“I…..well……” You stuttered.
“You’re getting one tomorrow, Y/N. End of story.” Sam said flatly. “We can’t afford to take the chance. I know you don’t like needles, so I promise we’ll get you nice and drunk first .”
“Sam’s right, Y/N. You don’t wanna be any demon’s meat suit. Trust me.” Dean assured you, his green eyes heavy with memories. You felt the first twinges of fear in your stomach.
Dean had been giving you shots of whiskey for over an hour, but your adrenaline level was so high they were barely having an effect.
“I said no!” You yelled, stamping your foot for emphasis. “No needles. Can’t I just do a temporary tattoo and just keep reapplying it?”
Sam groaned in frustration. “No. It doesn’t work that way. Come on Baby. I just want you to be safe. Tattoo needles aren’t like shot needles. They barely go into your skin.”
“Sam!” You screeched. “You’re the reasonable one. You’re supposed to talk me out of this! You’re making my phobia worse, not better!
“You barely feel it when the needles inject the dye…..” Sam began.
You put your fingers in your ears and started talking over him. “I’m not listening….I’m not listening….lalalalalala.”
“Hey Sammy, can you let me talk to Y/N alone for a minute? I have an idea,” Dean finally suggested when it looked like his brother was about to lose his shit. He could tell they were wearing Y/N down. He poured Sam a double shot and told him to give him five minutes.
When Sam came back, Y/N was sitting in a chair calmly. “Okay, I’ll do it, as long as Dean can hold my hand. I’m gonna go grab my jacket.”
You headed for your room and Sam looked at Dean, his mouth slack with astonishment. “What did you say to her?”
Dean smiled his familiar cocky grin. “I just told her that she got to pick the spot for the tattoo….anywhere she wanted. And how much fun it could be for you to search for it, with your mouth.”
Jensen and Jared, playing Sam and Dean, playing Jensen and Jared, playing Sam and Dean... I swear to god there's never gonna be anything like this show.
