spn femslash bingo: square filled: bela & meg & sarah
It started off as an idea, an idea that would change their entire future. Technology in robotics and engineering had become well advanced, and it was something Meg had always wanted to work in since she was a kid. The first artificial intelligence had been established long before she'd been born, but nothing created had proven to be functional or processed enough for society living. Meg spent her younger years and into her teens designed different ways her robot would work and what she would name it. She cycled through design after design, until she found herself sitting in a robotics class and had designed, what she thought would be, the perfect robot; Bela. Her professor, Ms. Blake, had taken an interest in Meg's designs, asking her to stay after class so they could work on the intricate designs together. Meg had become close with the woman, learning that she shared the same dream. After hiring a technical advisory team and running through many failed design attempts, learning about the flaws, and getting through the final mechanisms, Meg and Sarah [Blake] had finally done it. Sure, there were no palatable features at the moment - but it was a start. Sarah was approached by Talbot industries upon learning of her and her student's functional AI. She told Meg of the company's wishes to purchase the AI, wanting to claim it as Bela 4.3 of Talbot Industries, saying that Bela would pave the way for the robotics of the future. Meg's design, their design, would become the blueprint for science yet to come. The whole thing was unsettling for Meg, she felt it was a poor decision. She didn't want to let Bela go. She wasn't just a machine to her, Bela had become her friend, someone she could converse with. This robot, this AI, this person? She wasn't a toy to Meg. The worst part of it all was knowing that if Talbot Industries took Bela away from her, she would be forced to erase all the memories she created with her friend.
