How did you get introduced bto Star Trek?
Uhm… well I watched it a lot on TV when I was a kid. XD
And then it kinda stuck with me I guess, haha ^^Though I've always been more of a Stargate girl. <3
How did you get introduced to Star Trek? Was there many people at that con? That is UK right?
Hey there!
I actually got introduced to Star Trek through the reboot movies - they made me want to check where the whole thing came from, and I absolutely fell in love with TOS. (:
As for the con - I went to 2 cons in my Spock cosplay, and yes, one of them was London's LFCC (the other was a minor local con with less attendance), and that one was quite crowded, yep. It made for a fantastic experience though, I really hope to go again! ^^
How were you introduced bto Star Trek?
My dad and I watched it when I was young :)
How did you get intruduced to Star Trek?
Through my friend prince-noya and through the Star Trek: Into Darkness premiere, and through isaisanisa and caffeinatedqueer's Star Trek cosplay group 2 Metrocons ago. Everyone was just so inviting and nice and just welcomed me in, and since then I've fallen in love with the series, the stories, and Uhura is my favorite cosplay. It's been a blast.
How did you get introduced to Star Trek?
Funny story actually.
When I was about 12, my mom (who was never really much of a star trek fan) had rented Star Trek (2009) and wanted me to watch it with her. I distinctly remember replying “No way, momma, Star Trek is for nerds!” and running upstairs to probably do something equally as nerdy.
Last year, Star Trek: Into Darkness was released into theatres, and my best friend asked me to see it with her, but I’d still neglected to watch the previous one. My mom intervened and said “Don’t worry, I’ll make her do it.”
Big mistake.
After watching both, I fell in love.
Never having seen TOS before, I wasn’t really sure what I was getting myself into, when I opened Netflix. I’d heard good things about “Trouble with Tribbles” and started there.
I remember laying on the floor in the dark, with the glow of the television the only light, watching an increasingly-irritated William Shatner get buried in a pile of fuzzballs, and laughing, “why don’t I watch this show? It’s a riot!”
Following that, things get kind of hazy and out of control, and all of a sudden I found that I had watched all of season one, half of season two, and told my mother my sole purpose in life was to become Leonard McCoy.
But honestly, it was my friends and this stupid blue website that really got me invested in exploring the universe in muted colors and glitter and primitive television lighting.
How did you get introduced to Star Trek?
Well growing up, my uncle had always been a huge Trek fan but it was my dad who really got me into Star Trek. Previously I had only seen a few episodes here and there but when the reboot came out, I went and saw it with my dad in theaters. Afterwards he was so excited to share the original characters with me that we went home and we watched Wrath of Khan together. I was hooked and we spent the summer watching all the TOS episodes :]
Cosplay
Good luck with your cosplay. LLAP
Thank you! I think my cosplays went really well overall though I had some minor difficulties. Peace and long life.
