I remember when I was a kid and saw the first spider man movie with my mom. It was hilarious lol, she was so mad cause she fully expected spider man to be a giant ripped guy like the old 90's cartoon. Instead she got Toby Mcguire, and it was funny to hear her rant about how spider man wasn't supposed to be a "sissy boy". Then I had to explain to her how in the comics he was a geeky college student.
Guess that's one reason I like Venom, besides how awesome he looks. If you look up why he hates spider man the reasons sort of make sense, that and how, like my mom, comic spider man sort of annoys me. I'd be cool to see him come back as an anti-hero, though in the comics marvel has really screwed him over.
