I drank one of these ’01 Castell’in Villa’s right after the shutdown. I was having a sh!t day and the wine made me feel a lot better. It is profound and from a producer regarded as one of the illest & by some actually, THE MOST ILL. It’s always nice to drink for comfort & enjoyment rather than analytical reasons such as evaluating wine for the list. Although I was ‘off the clock,’ I couldn’t help but notice this wine is just starting its drinking window and will likely last and improve another 15 or more years. So, there it is. Having a sh!t day now? This wine will help. Plan on having a sh!t day in 15 years, the wine will only impress you more. Obviously, you don’t need to pair this wine with a sh!t day. You can pair it with a delicious dinner with friends or a slice of reheated pizza. Whatever the occasion it will only make it that much better.
