Whenever Halloween rolls around, Lance breathes a little easier because it's the one time of year he can really be himself: A vampire. And though he hates keeping it a secret from Shiro, the fear of rejection, or worse—horrorfied disgust—has proven to be a pretty good motivator. So he dresses up in true stereotypical fashion—long velvet cape, starched white dress shirt and slacks, slicked back hair, and his best Bela Lugosi—and hits up the town. He plays his part well, and Shiro's fond looks and deep rumbling laughs whenever he drops a particularly cheesy line, makes his slow-beating heart flutter in his chest. He thinks he might just be able to keep his secret safe after all...
Joke's on him though: Shiro's a werewolf, and he's known from the first moment they met that Lance was different (his nose ain't for show, folks), and he's been waiting for Lance to tell him himself because he wants Lance to know he can trust him. That nothing Lance could do or say, or be, would ever change how he feels about him.
