Rhodo stilled as she was hugged, she went to speak but her voice caught in her throat. She tilted down as a couple of tears dropped onto the cloth bag in front of her. “I don’t want to move” she felt helpless to it all, what was first joy at the seeming reunion of her family had turned into a hole in her stomach.
When her father had returned she thought he’d change his nature, that he would see his children and his wife and have a change of heart. How stupid, how childish she felt, she had led him to her family when they were most vulnerable. They had been having lunch and Rhodo thought to surprise them with his arrival, he had promised that he would help put their family back together. If Glitz hadn’t been there, he would have been able to get to Gaia in her weakened state.
“I don’t want to move” she sobbed out, “I want to stay here!” she abandoned her packing to wipe at her face. “What’s going to happen to the shop? What if he comes back?”
She sniffed and attempted to quell her emotions, “If he comes back and we’re not here you’ll be alone, we can’t split up everyone!”
