I liked Cas, Sam, and Dean’s plots a lot actually but the lack of continuity and the serious dubcon kinda tamp my love down. What did you like best about it?
while the drastic change in reaper lore is distracting, it doesn't bother me much. it's so early in the season that it's very possible/probably it'll get more attention than what it was given this episode. i try not to worry about stuff unless i have to.
my feelings on the dubcon is summarized really well by this dude here and while it bothers me, it's dubious enough as to not detract monumentally from the episode for me.
I liked the episode because it was fun to explore Castiel's beginnings as a human. I get stoked whenever Cas has screen time, so just having a Cas-centric episode was exciting. I liked how often people were kind to Cas -- and especially loved the line about how those with the least to give are most generous. I liked April and I like to think she wasn't possessed for the whole episode, and, as a deancas shipper, I liked watchin Dean cup Cas' face in his hands, fearing that he'd died. I loved Jared Padalecki's acting and every time Ezekiel took over I squirmed happily because it's really cool. I even liked the way it ended, because I like when SPN makes me wail and throw pillows at the TV and I like where the season's heading.
