another revisited oldie.
redrew an old character I drew on an envelope back in like, uh, 1999? 2000? unsure.
a siamese cat girl, haha. I love siamese cats with completely dark faces, they're like partial black cats.
me from 25-26 years ago would probably be hyped to see this, haha.

kind of sort of redrew my first ever Hams art from 2016.
it's fun to revisit old art and see what has changed.
redrew some of the earliest art ever of Helmi because why not. these are from when I initially had my dreams of her back in 2005. and yes that is dreams in plural, Helmi is one of the few non-nightmare recurring dream entities that would show up again in a dream right after waking up and going back to sleep, so that's wild.
to recount the dream a little bit, Helmi (she was originally a cis guy and had a different name, mind, she didn't get her current name and set of pronouns until 2017) was in a high school environment with me and wanted to be my friend. she was also a protagonist in a tv show?? (for whatever reason it was titled Golden Boy and had no relation to the anime of the same name lol)
anyway, after I woke up and went to sleep again she wanted to drive the bus I was in. so... lol.
over the years she's been a recurring figure in so many places and she's always been very chipper and eager to make friends. so in a sense, she became my friend.
more old Helmi redraws lol. this time from 2008 and 2009.
both of the orange pieces reference Love Love Love by Jean-Michel Jarre. original one was drawn in Tegaki E where I made use of the limited canvas space while with the new one I just made the canvas into a square.
