Doodle one of your characters!
(Except if you meant writing only, ahh- Feel free to ignore).
I originally did mean writing, but this is definitely doable, so I'll take it!
So, the following two images are some quick (very quick) sketches of the same character in two forms.
This is Kiera Todd, my main OC. My self-insert, if that's what you'd call it. I'm not sure if you still call a character a self-insert if you put them in a completely original work. Whatever you'd call her, she represents me. A dramatization of my flaws, but also who I aspire to be one day.
In my written universe, all humans are able to "unlock" the ability to shift back and forth into one non-magical animal after handling a piece of a certain enchanted stone. The piece forms into a charm that represents something about the person, which may or may not be very significant. A person's potential animal form is fluid before they attain it, but cannot change once they have their charm. You don't have to keep wearing your charm to shift.
Kiera's is a little bottle with some unidentified shiny liquid in it. She thinks it represents the interest and later job she found in potionmaking. Her animal form is a white wolf.
The main thing about her that makes her relevant to this blog (and the thing she struggles with most throughout her story) is that she's a Healer. If you haven't gathered what they do by now, they can heal living things by swallowing them whole. Having this power makes Kiera feel inhuman and monstrous, which she struggles with greatly. Despite how she feels, she's definitely still human.
The first creature she healed was a bird with a broken wing that she found on a walk when she was a child.
She was not born a Healer, but became one at a young age. Once you become a Healer by any available method, it's permanent, no matter what you do. She did not become one by conscious choice, and now, she has to live her whole life that way. This is another thing she struggles with.
I'll refrain from infodumping any more on this single post. I do eventually want to make a detailed post all about how she got her powers and how she lives with them, but that's gonna have to come later.
Forgive the messy drawings, by the way. It's kinda late and I only just got the motivation to draw.
