you're not policing how people react, people *can* react in any way they want. doesn't mean you have to put up with those reactions (especially if those reactions are against your whole identity)

You maybe can’t police how they react to stuff, but you can tell them they can’t treat you like you’re trash and they need to get the hell on. You’re totally in the right to fight for yourself. Also, I admire your guts for writing and posting it where people have the capacity to post on it.
Like intellectually I am aware of that, obviously, but emotionally it really does get to me? And I hate that, I really do. Like I know I have every right to delete those comments, or block people on here who reblog my shit to post their weird ass shipper meta or whatever, but it still feels like I’m being unreasonable somehow, you know?
Like I’m being unfair or whatever, when like... I am allowed to not see that shit if I don’t want to. I really am.
Yet unfortunately like... there is a divide between the emotions we feel and the stuff we know is reasonable, and this is one of those cases where I know I have every right to stand up for myself and curate my fandom experience, but wow do I ever feel HORRIBLE and wrong doing that.
