Tuesday Turtle. This guy is based on those lovely turtle lamps where the shell is the light, and on our native Spotted Turtle! And of course, the shell glows in the dark.
That shell is actually how he almost found a home, and lost it, to a lady who collected Turtles, not Glow in the Dark. I have never met someone so put off by the very idea of glowing. First time for everything!
If you like this friend and are not put off by the audacity of glowing, he's currently plodding about on Bittythings and Beasts.

How are the turtle eggs doing????
Great! At least I think so. This is my first go-round with baby turts, but as far as I can tell they’re progressing normally. They’re starting to fill up most of the egg now. Due date should be sometime around May 17th.
We are ridiculously nervous and excited.

The babies tails are so long!!! I had to look again because for a split second I thought they were snapping turtles!
I love their big baby tails so much. A lot of aquatic turtle species have long tails as babies, but they grow into them as they mature. I’m not sure what the evolutionary reason for this is. Either way they’re really stinkin’ cute.
Found SIX EGGS while going through the spotties’ basking platform (all infertile as I have yet to successfully find them a boyfriend). These are in addition to two I found earlier; the girls have been busy!
We found a present Elphie (probably) left us in the nesting area last night! Two more eggs and they’re already starting to chalk up. The earlier two eggs are due to hatch in a few weeks. @newts-in-hats
