I did a dog walk this morning and the whole time I was thinking. Man. These dogs look SUPER familiar.

Then I got to work and was like wait.

Wait

And i asked a coworker, and it turns out the dogs board at my work every month or so, and I've managed to miss them all but one time and that's how I knew them lol

I was originally going to post more of like the work ramblings but not long after I posted the first one something so fucking. Wild and dumb and upsetting happened and I forgot

Cw dog death/animal death, possible animal mistreatment?

Essentially these dogs came in all from the same family, one of them super aggressive and had bitten the owner at drop off (C), one covered in fleas + in heat (P), and two more that were like. Fairly standard. (B & R)

P was like 10 years old and was bleeding more than a dog in heat should so we contacted the owners about taking her to the vet and we got the ok, but the issue was the dog didnt,,, fit in any of the employee cars (except mine, but it's a big step into mine which we were trying to avoid) so we tried calling the emergency contact but the contact was on the same trip as the owner :| . Eventually we were able to get her into my car and take P into the emergency vet and I sat in the waiting room for a few hours while they treated her until one of the vets came out and told me they'd figured out what was wrong and were able to get in contact with the owner, and the owners had decided to euthanize her because the treatment was outside of their budget :/ I looked it up when I got home and apparently what was wrong was completely preventable by just spaying her.

For the next couple days I collected some info on the other dogs, C had come around to me and a few others after a lot. Of patience, but she was also very matted and nervous (also not spayed). R had been flinching when people moved too quick near her and owners had apparently said they were worried she might have cancer at dropoff??(also not spayed), B had been like the best behaved (different naming scheme,only boy, not neutered, I suspect dog of the owners partner?)

The people returned after the rest of their trip and apparently tried to not pay for the dogs stay ( they weren't charged for P btw)

All in all. I hate these people.

i think i should start posting about my work. not like art work but like my. employment

i want to talk about the silly animals

and maybe draw them sometimes

but im also conflicted bc idk if thats like allowed,, i cant come up with a reason why it wouldnt be but anxiety is a cruel and powerful force

(its a pet boarding place btw (+ dogwalking/sitting side job bc i am a simple creature that likes animals))
