Im writing a story and noBODY CAN STOP ME. (Long post inbound.)
Scriptliss struggled against his restraints that were put on him. Even in his true form, the void was still stronger than him. The only way he managed to defeat 1x1x1x1 the previous time was that he was distracted by the Protaganist. Where were they, anyways? Whoever had 1x1x1x1 possessing them had bound Scriptliss’ legs and arms behind him, and every attempt he made to rid himself of these restraints the wires cut into him. Struggling would prove useless.
It had only been a few minutes when his “cell,” or a transparent void orb as Duskeer would refer to it as, began to move. Where? Not a clue. This void castle was beyond massive; a whole hoard of box dragons could live here and there would still be room. Scriptliss looked around for anything - banners, murals, anything - to help identify this new host. There were no guards visible, but it felt like he was constantly being watched by hundreds of invisible eyes.
Surely a figment of my imagination, or whatever is left, Scriptliss thought. The Void was chaotic; capable of bringing the wildest dreams true in the most sickening, twisted manner. Whoever was behind this had twisted his dreams into horrendous nightmares of harming their friends; something they had done once more when Scriptliss was abducted by the void last night. Wiscara, the first of the heroes captured, surely experienced this too.
Finally, the cell stopped moving once it reached a large opening; the contents of the room was hidden by black, velvet drapes with white trim and deep purple amethysts adorning the bottom. The drapes pulled back, revealing a large hallway with a throne created by black onyx crystals at the end, though nobody sat in the throne. At least not yet. The roof of this hallway was supported by large pillars of black marble, with the roof adorned with a repeating pattern of large purple and white crystals. These crystals were surrounded with gold ringlets with void runes, as Scriptliss noticed. The cell moved once again, hovering above a purple carpet leading to the throne.
Here, there were banners and other adornments. The banners had the void symbol, though the background was a deep purple and the symbol was white. Not enough to identify the responsible party. Statues of the monster 1x1x1x1 were beneath the banners. Still no identification.
Wiscara. She was hiding behind a pillar close to the throne! How did she escape?! These thoughts were interrupted when a voice broke the silence.
“Ah, Scriptliss. The Demon. Fancy seeing you here after you had killed me in THAT plot book,” a deep voice spoke. Scriptliss turned his attention to the throne, where it was now occupied. The Protaganist was sitting in the onyx throne, resting their head on a thumb rather smugly.
“P-Protag..?! But..?!” Scriptliss stammered, unable to formulate words to this revelation.
“Ah, ah! It’s not the Protaganist anymore, dear friend. Though it’s adorable to see the look of pure shock on your face, filthy demon,” they spoke. It was certainly 1x1x1x1 speaking. “History loves to repeat itself, hm? Countless victims whose names have been lost to time, to Tess, and now the ‘Hero.’ Shame how fate hates these so-called “Protagonists.”
Scriptliss could not believe what he was hearing. Was this just some sort of sickening torture he puts the world through every time he claims a new victim?! Scriptliss wanted to scream at him, to DEMAND the Protaganist back. But no voice came to him. All he could do is watch 1x1x1x1 puppet his friend’s body around, and he couldn’t do a thing about it. Scriptliss looked down, tears now flowing out faster than normal.
“Aw, don’t look so down, Scriplien. Your friend is safe! Just like Tess was when I granted him more power. They’re just asleep, enjoying the little trip to paradise I’ve given them,” 1x1x1x1 spoke. The voice he made when referring to Scriptliss by his true name, however, was that of the Protaganist. It silenced Scriptliss. A silence fell about the throne room.
Even Wiscara had to force herself to not sob when she heard their voice once more.
Letting out a small chuckle, 1x1x1x1 spoke once more. “I’ll let you in on a secret, Scriplien. They knew they weren’t the hero. The were more of a ‘reader’ than anything, and they HATED it. You were the hero, and they simply pushed the story along. But when it came time to leave Paper Nil, they couldn’t. Because then the story would end, and we would all cease to be. Saddening, really. They had done this countless times, trying everything to keep the story going even after the - what would you call it? - Epilouge. All in vain. They wanted to stay with you all, but because the story was completed and the next was yet to be written, they simply couldn’t. I could feel their pain every iteration. I decided to do something about that. And here we are now.”
“Y-You’re LYING!” Scriptliss yelled, only to recieve a snicker from 1x1x1x1 in response.
“I understand why you would think I’m lying. But I assure you, I’m not.”
Evil.
