Humanity appears to be an existence of parallel extremes.
But what about the balance, the middle ground, the gray area?
As we edge closer towards our January delivery, we find ourselves exploring this vast area of flux. Caught in the middle of so many rivaled siblings, SPOR is that balance.
A technological product with a natural orientation.
A complex production process that is simple in its delivery.
A solution for individuals in the developed and developing world.
A product that is principally about energy but adapts to meet changing needs.
Internally, the team at SPOR recognizes that the likelihoods of a utopian society, or a mass apocalypse are slim (at least, for now…). Instead, we adopt the understanding that we have a solution that can fit a large problem facing the global population - that of sustainability.
So why try to bring balance to so many existing dichotomies? Because this is the natural way; that of striving to remain in equilibrium. Unfortunately, as a human race, the factors that disrupt this equilibrium are those of human intervention through actions and products that excessively deplete and deprive the earth.
Taking a lesson from mother nature, we’ve realized that, at its very core, a product must have a base. It must have principles that it refuses to violate. Ours are harnessing and delivering clean energy. However, from that base must evolve adaptations that can elevate those principles. In nature; it’s climate change, volcanic eruptions and so called natural disasters. In our case, it’s 3D printed shells, open source circuit boards, and scalable assembly modules.
What does this enable us to do? Well, emulate nature in one sense but in a more direct sense; provide power to the people in a balanced way. Not a way that says this is the end-all solution for the impending energy crisis but in a manner that iterates; this is a potential solution that can be improved upon, by us, but even more so by our community of heroes and empowerers; you guys!
Ultimately, the biggest improvements will sprout from the realization that we all have a part to play in this energy revolution.
