My garden just got a bit more ghetto. The wind was so strong here a few days ago, it blew down a pine tree in my back yard.

It landed on top of my green house, taking out a fence panel and my electrical mast. Cost $2500 to fix my electric, yikes.

BUT nobody was hurt, it didnt hit my neighbor's roof or house. I just happened to have saved close to that amount of money, so at least I had it. Also, I can use all of the wood in my upcoming raised garden bed project. I am choosing to look on the bright side or I will cry.

Unburying the greenhouse today. She has been through a lot this year. A hail storm that left holes in the roof and then a tree fell on top of her. 2026 is LIT!

Got some stuff done in preparation for spring🌻 this week, and I couldn't be more happy with myself!!!

First of all, I got my greenhouse ready! I laid down fresh cardboard (been hoarding it for weeks). Then, I spent $57 on black mulch and stepping stones.

I laid it all out, and then I sprinkled eucalyptus essential oil all over as a natural bug repellent.

It came out so neat and crisp looking!

I want to install some solar powered lights of some sort, and I plan to build shelving out of cinder blocks and flat boards. This is just the beginning!!

I also got a fresh batch of seeds going. Focused on flowers for this go around.

First row of 4 is Zinnia, next row is 4 Morning Glory blue, next is 4 M. Glory pink and purple mix, then 4 M.Glory striped mix, finally, 8 Marigold.

Today was a good day! Stay safe out there!

So, as per American usual, this week has been gross. I doomscrolled for hours this week, then I made myself go outside and touch organic dirt.

BUT. I got my hands on some greenery, so that helped.

I used a bunch of trader joes' paper bags that I had been saving as biodegradable container filler.

I got pretty drunk today. It was nice. I listened to Viola Davis's autobiography and I soaked some seeds.

I refuse to be judged for day drinking in trump's hellscape of America.

So, I got 6 containers of Shade tolerant wildflower pots going, and I transplanted all of my mature aerogarden pod plants into dirt. Hallelujah.

Ps, I decided to propogate 3 Basil. I dipped the ends of the stems into an Aloe cutting, and I tossed them all into some mini Family Dollar progating vases.

This will be my second time propagating Basil this way, and it is extremely successful. It turns out Basil is an excellent companion plant to peppers and tomatoes.

finally made a moodboard for my backyard dreams.

this is everything I am hoping to achieve in my small backyard space. A hot tub with a shelter, pea gravel paths, diy furniture, a greenhouse, a thriving garden, and twinkle lights everywhere.

I'm willing to work for it, but this is what I want <3
