Automated JSON API documentation for API's built with Spring

After playing with trying to document a Spring Boot project using Swagger, it eventually becomes obvious that Swagger is more of a spec than a working example. For instance:

You have to duplicate annotations rather than say just supporting gson/jackson annotations out of the box

What happens if you want to generate different sets of docs for public and private API’s? Good luck.

I am still playing with this project, but gives you a lot more to work with than they assorted Swagger projects.
