The cafeteria was large, crowded, but what can you expect from an LA high school? Issak was not a fan of the crowds, nor the loudness of it all, but he did like food. Everyday he sat in the same lonely corner, away from everyone else with his tray of food before him and his music notes to the side, scribbling away as he ate. To his right were huge windows, floor to ceiling, the doors there serving as a means to allow kids to sit and eat outside if they so desired. He would take a seat out there, enjoy the nice weather, however that’s where the more ❛popular kids❜ spent their lunch time, and Issak did not want to be ridiculed while trying to enjoy his lunch. So he opted for the lonely corner, at least he was near the windows.
No one sat with him, he was strange, kept to himself. Most thought of him as weird and shy, what with his quiet nature and high anxiety. Loneliness crept into his soul, with barely there parents and no friends Issak struggled to keep his head up at times. Solace was found in his music, mostly, that and the stash of cigarettes hidden beneath his bed, they helped the shaking in his hands, helped him feel comfort where there was none.
Today was no different than any other, at least when he took his usual seat. Just as he pulled out his sheet paper however, he noticed another soul, taking the seat across from him, and suddenly anxiety was through the roof. Bright emerald eyes shinned with fear, not wishing to be criticized or harassed again by yet another peer as he was every day. Instantly he began shuffling his papers back into his bag, speaking softly but quickly to the boy across from him.
❛ I... I can move! I’m sorry! I’ll g-g-get out... out of your w-way! ❜
