God “it seems I have no choice” would have been...Fine
You and I both know that Persona 5's localizers would never settle for just "fine". They have standards!!

By "Declarer of Anguish" they really mean the way he declares things causes anguish in people who care about grammar.
Honestly, this is actually one of the lowest hits on the anguish scale for me as far as P5's translation goes. It's so ridiculously over-the-top terrible, I can't even feel mildly frustrated by it.

mayhaps they gave up by the end of the game
Spoken like someone who has never played the beginning of P5! Or the middle. Or the rest of the end. (Or possibly you've just blocked out the memories of the translation, which is totally understandable.) Because, like... I genuinely can't even say this is anywhere near the worst translation in the game, considering that even though the grammar's glaringly wrong on like four levels at once, it doesn't actually change the meaning or make the text outright incomprehensible? (Or the single funniest translation, for that matter, considering this exists.) It definitely wins the award for "I didn't even know it was possible to make that many errors in the span of six words", though.
