Keep it Professional

Okay so first time actually writing shit out that wasn’t for school, so let’s see how this goes. I guess this would count as a oneshot? Idk man.

Pairing(s): Daithi De Terroriser (Spud Buds 4 lyfe)

Warnings: Kinda angsty here at the beginning nothing too bad

“We spend too much time together.” Daithi stated bluntly. He stood, leaning against one of the student desks in front of Brian’s teacher desk at the front of the room. The two were laughing and making dumb jokes up until then, Daithi’s face going stone cold and causing Brian to look up worriedly from his computer, “Well, what makes you say that…?” He asked hesitantly. 

“We’re co-workers. We shouldn’t be buddy-buddy with each other, this is a workplace.”

“Are you saying you don’t want to be friends…?” Brian looked back at his computer screen blankly, a tension filling the room so thick you could cut it with a knife. His heart sank as Daithi spoke on, worried he’d be without the tall ray of sunshine.

“I like being your friend, Bri, I just… I don’t want things to get out of hand.” Daithi mumbled the last bit, turning his head and more-so speaking into his shoulder. This made Brian look up again and tilt his head, resembling that of a confused puppy, making Daithi’s heart melt at the sheer cuteness.

“What?” Brian more stated than asked. He stood up from his desk, trying his best to keep eye contact with the other. He made his way around the desk, bending down a bit to look his friend in the eyes.

“I meant like, we should keep things purely professional.” He stated again, squaring his shoulders and standing straight. Brian moved to lean against the front of his own desk, contemplating what he should say next.

“Were you thinking things would go unprofessional?” He asked finally, in a timid tone. He didn’t want to scare Daithi, but the way Daithi looked at him like a deer in the headlights probably scared him more. He covered his reddening cheeks with one hand, bony fingers wrapping around his mouth in a feeble attempt to hide the blush creeping up his neck and past his ears. Brian smirked, catching on quickly. “Somebody has a cruuushhh, ey?” He brushed his knuckles off on his chest, in the typical “I’m so great.” pose.

“Fuck off, ye cunt.” Daithi replied, making Brian laugh.

“You’re cute when you hate me.” He said, catching Daithi off guard. What caught him more off guard was when Brian grabbed the hand that covered Daithi’s face, pulling him down a bit and pecking him on the cheek.”I called you cute, dickhead.”
