Spurn Low Lighthouse, on Spurn Point, near Hull. Spurn Low Lighthouse was built in 1852. Just behind it can be seen Spurn High Lighthouse, built in 1895 to replace Smeaton's High Lighthouse of 1771-6, demolished in 1895, and the Low Lighthouse. The Low Lighthouse was subsequently used as a water tower, and as an explosives magazine (presumably during the heavy militarisation of Spurn Point during WWI.
