If your character were the subject of a Bond flick, who would be their ‘Bond Girl’? ((Gaz, right??))

I’m pretty sure if Julia had to designate a Bond Girl, she would pick her shipmate April ( @aprilmillerphd ) as her partner. Beautiful, brilliant April that Julia can protect from those who seek to use her prodigious intellect for evil, in the same vein as several more scientifically minded Bond girls of years past…

Plus, smooching after Julia succeeds in her mission.

As for Gaz… please consider the scene of Ursula Andress rising out of the water in the bikini. Except it’s Gaz. And Julia wakes up from her nap to this and just stares into the camera as if asking if this shit is real.

Would your muse ever betray their parent organization? If so, what would drive them to do so? If no, what is it that keeps them loyal?

If we want to get really technical, in her canon, Julia already has betrayed MI-5. It was nothing against MI-5, really, it was just a lot of rage aimed at the West. It was Julia deciding if these people wouldn’t let the game be fair to her, she’d just change her tactics to her advantage.

She works largely for herself more than her actual employers. Oh, she plays nice for them, and still has a level of concern for her peers and the greater good, but ultimately seeks her own survival and ambitions. Working with Makarov is her way of ensuring, whoever wins in this coming war, she has a chance to live. Her divided loyalties work better for her than any monogamy in her career, so long as she is smart and keeps MI-5 from knowing about her extracurricular activities.

Basically, pragmatism and reaching her breaking point over Western hypocrisy is the catalyst for her betraying her parent organization, rather than any out and out malice against her employers.

2. What kind of spy gear does your character typically use? Do they have Bond-like gadgets, or rely more on their wits and whatever is at hand on a mission?

Julia actually comes from more of a stale beer setting in terms of spy tech, so she’s largely left without cool gadgets or advanced technology. She might be allowed a gun depending on the mission, a communicator or recording device of some sort on an average day, but it’s rare she touches anything more cutting edge. 

There’s a particular scene in the show MI-5 (or Spooks, if you happen to be a UK follower) where an agent is outfitted with various gear hidden in common, every day objects.... that are ridiculously out of place and would immediately be noticed in some fashion. The agent turns around and dumps all of the tech into the Thames, relying instead on his wits and whatever is on hand to get him through the mission. That episode aired probably a good decade ago, I know it was back during the days where Tom was the male lead, but I feel like Julia is much the same if she feels like the package her tech is presented in will be a hindrance, even if a lot of spy gadgets have evolved since. 

Basically, Julia packs light, tries to be reasonable about her kit, and will typically use whatever setting she finds herself in to her advantage, despite her massive, throbbing hard-on for technology and innovation.
