BIG Data You can SQream About
SQream Technologies knows something the rest of the big data industry wants to know more about and it’s their success in creating a data analytics database that operates 100 times faster than competitors. CEO, Ami Gal, demonstrated his unfathomably efficient SQream database at back in 2013 Israel Conference’s Future Fest™ in front of investors, industry execs and tech aficionados. And just a few weeks ago, they announced that they’ve raised a new round in funding for $7.4M from Blumberg Capital.
What makes SQream Technologies unique and desirable is that they harness an unconventional and underused computer asset. Most big data companies use CPUs (central processing unit) for analytics, but SQream uses GPUs (graphics processing unit), hardware meant for high-end gaming computers. Gal figured that GPUs and their massive processing power could be used to solve the problems of data just like they solve the problems of rendering lush, interactive virtual worlds. And he was right.
What this means for SQream and its customers is that they can achieve lightning fast analytics speeds while only paying a fraction of the cost. According to Gal, there is no need for large servers; a $15,000 server equipped with SQream is no different than a million dollar server running Teradata or Oracle databases. Through SQream, big data analytics becomes affordable for smaller businesses, and even healthcare centers.
This Israeli startup, SQream Technologies, has rightfully claimed its spot as the fastest big data analytics database out there and we cannot wait to see what they do in the future. Congratulations on the $7.4M investment, and we’re looking forward to The Israel Conference™ this October 21 & 22, 2015 where we’ll explore more amazing conversations in the areas of big data, entertainment tech, sports tech, cyber security, and much more.
Our conference, going on its 7th year, brings together small, medium and large Israeli tech companies and an international lineup of speakers and VC’s to create interesting and intense “real” conversations about what’s hot right now. If you’re a CEO and think you’d fit well into one of our panel discussions or to pitch your very own company, please email paula @theisraelconference.org.
