MY LAST SUMMER VACATION
It was this summer of 2019, that me and my friends went to a wonderful adventure that is worth remembering for.
It was an unexpected and unplanned adventure. While we are just roaming around Lazi, Siquijor, we saw a signnage that shows that there is a Sambulawan Cave and Underground River nearby. It was not that popular that time, because it was newly discovered and developed by the natives living there. Knowing that it was still fresh and new in our eyes, we immediately went there and ask the people who are incharge of the wonderful place. The fee is just P200.00 per head with a life jacket and a head lamp. And along your journey there is a tour guide that will guide your way.
In the entrance of it, you can see a 100ft-200ft stairway leading into the heart of the cave. At first, it was a little bit scary because as you go deeper it becames darker and darker. Inside tbe cave there are three known chambers.
In the first chamber you can see an underground river, which is very deep and dark. Getting to the end of it you need to swim wearing your life jacket or you may hold on the side of the walls. It was roughly, 15-25 meters before you reach the main source of the river and beside of it you can see a stone that looks like a buddha.
In the second chamber, it was a little harder because inorder to get inside you need to crawl before you can witness the magnificient stagmites and stalactites. That are so magical yet, it is untouchable because it would affect thier growth that it would deteriorate.
And lastly in the 3rd chamber, there you can see what they so called "the bat cave" because it is literally filled with bats everywhere.
It was really a fun and thrilling adventure. This kind of activities really helps our bond become stronger even if we are apart from each other during school days. We are looking forward to more adventures and roadtrips in the near future.
