Squeaky Boots is a weird episode, but I gotta love how in depth Krabs' character was, especially from a psychological POV

Mmhm! I loved Krabs in that episode in general. He recognized what he did was wrong and tried to make it right, and the biggest part— He WILLINGLY gave SpongeBob back his paycheck. And even though his birthday gift to Pearl was kinda trash, you could genuinely tell from his tone that he didn’t mean to make her upset, and he gave her the actual shoes she wanted at the end.

I wish Krabs got more arcs like that in recent episodes…

the other day i told my BF that the SpongeBob Season 1 episode "Squeaky Boots" is loosely inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's "Tell Tale Heart."

and man, getting to say that and be 100% correct is so fun, his reaction was golden.

he immediately pulled up the nearest streaming service and re-watched the episode.

:3 it was fun, and honestly, recognizing literary references in odd places is so entertaining.
