*virgil can be in several places at once via conjured butterflies (or anything he chooses, but mostly butterflies so the other sides don't immediately suspect him.) they pose as an extension of his precense/consciousness, and he mostly uses them when he's unsure of leaving a side or thomas himself alone with themselves. basically an ‘extra security setting’ of sorts :-)
